The DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill – 2019 introduced in Lok Sabha
Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Harsh Vardhan introduced “The DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill, 2019” today in the Lok Sabha. While introducing, the Union Minister said that this Bill is for the regulation of use and application of DNA technology for the purpose of establishing identity of missing persons, victims, offenders, under trials and unknown deceased persons.
The primary intended purpose of  "The DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill, 2019" is for expanding the application of DNA-based forensic technologies to support and strengthen the justice delivery system of the country. 

‘AP to unveil new IT policy in 100 days’
 Andhra Pradesh government will unveil a new IT policy within 100 days or so, and the State government will focus on developing Visakhapatnam as the IT destination.
He said the government would review most of the agreements signed by the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime and review the policies relating to IT and industry development. “If there are any good features and policies, we will persist with them. It is not our policy to undo whatever the previous government had did,” he said in response to a question

Bi-cycle sharing scheme to be introduced in Puducherry
Puducherry smart city development plan launched a bicycle sharing scheme It is to be introduced in Puducherry in a couple of months. The registered customers can use bicycles to hop from one place to another  The bicycles can be left at any of the docking stations  Around 100 spots have been identified for cycle docking stations.  The 20 docking stations with 10 to 15 cycles are to be set up in places like the beach promenade, Bharathi Park, Gandhi Thidal, Aurobindo ashram and railway station. It is a welcome step taken by the government under the smart city plan.


Virat Kohli retains top position among batsmen in latest ICC rankings

Team India skipper Virat Kohli retained the top position among batsmen in the latest ICC rankings.  Rohit Sharma bridged the gap at No. 2 following record five World Cup tons. Pakistan's Babar Azam got third place.  Australia opener David Warner re-entered the top 10 at number six.


Jaipur enters the UNESCO World Heritage Site list on 6 July

The walled city of Jaipur has entered into the UNESCO World Heritage Site list on July 6. Jaipur is well known for its iconic architectural legacy. It has become the second city of the country to enter into the UNESCO World Heritage Site after Ahmedabad.  The nomination of Jaipur was supported by a majority of the countries. Jaipur has been nominated by India as it has an exceptional urban example in indigenous city planning and construction in South Asia.


 Arinjeeta Dey won a silver medal for India in World Youth Cup 2019

Karate girl, Arinjeeta Dey (Barasat, West Bengal) won a silver medal under the 12 category in the World Youth Cup 2019  The competition was held in Umag, Croatia(from July 1 to July 5, 2019). It was organized by World Karate Federation affiliated to the International Olympic Association.  A total of 35 countries participated in this competition.  He won 3 times in national championship junior level category (2017 KAI SUB Junior National gold medalist, 2018 KAI SUB Junior National gold medalist,2019 KAI SUB Junior National Gold and Silver Medalist). She belongs from Barasat in West Bengal. 


FIFA Women’s World Cup: U.S.A beats Netherlands

The United States of America (USA) won FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 title after beating Netherlands in nal at Lyon, France. US won with 2-0 goals scored by from Megan Rapinoe penalty and Rose Lavelle. 


1st model village built with Indian assistance inaugurated in Sri Lanka.

A model village built with Indian assistance as part of a housing project meant for war affected people and estate workers was inaugurated in Sri Lanka, according to a media report.

India has partnered with the Ministry of Housing and Construction and Cultural Affairs to build 100 model villages consisting of a total of 2,400 houses all across Sri Lanka with Indian grant of Rs 1,200 million (USD 17.5 million).

Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu releases a book titled ‘Vivekadeepini’, a concise book of aphorisms (a memorable expression of a general truth or principle) initially
written by Adi Shankaracharya, one of India’s greatest spiritual and literary geniuses.
This short book is a summary of PrashnottaraRatnamalika written by Adi Shankaracharya.
