1) India to host 3rd global sunflower seed meet on July 19

After China and Ukraine, India will host 3rd International Sunflower Seed and Oil Conference (ISSOC) 2019 on July 19 and 20 in Mumbai. The conference, hosted by Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), will see participation from global industry leaders, experts, researchers, and government representatives.


2)Cabinet approves MoU between India and Maldives for Shipping


The Union Cabinet has given ex-post facto approval for the MoU between India and Maldives for the establishment of passenger and cargo services by sea, which was signed on June 8, 2019 during the visit of Prime Minister of India to Maldives.
India is a leading development partner of Maldives and has established many of the leading institutions of Maldives. Currently, India has provided US $100 million Stand-by Credit facility (SCF) to Maldives, including long-term loans and revolving credit for trade.




3)Cabinet approves MoU between India and Maldives in Health Sector

The Union Cabinet has given ex-post-facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on cooperation in the field of Health signed on 08th June, 2019.


4) Cabinet approves MoU of Cooperation between India and Morocco

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the MoU between India and Morocco for developing, promoting and strengthening mutual cooperation between the judiciaries of the two countries.

Impact

The approval will promote cooperation between India and Morocco in judicial and other legal areas and enable exchange of knowledge in infrastructure and information technology.


5) Cabinet approves proposal for leasing out of three airports viz. Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangaluru of Airports Authority of India through Public Private Partnership

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for leasing out of three airports viz. Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangaluru of Airports Authority of India (AAI) through Public Private Partnership (PPP) to the highest bidder i.e. M/s. Adani Enterprises Ltd. who quoted the highest bid for these airports, for operation, management and development under PPP for a lease period of 50 years as per the terms and conditions of the bid documents.


6) Cabinet approves proposal for Grant of Organized Group ‘A’ Service (OGAS) to Group ‘A’ Executive Cadre Officers

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for Grant of Organized Group ‘A’ Service (OGAS) to Group ‘A’ Executive Cadre Officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and extension of benefit of Non-Functional Financial Upgradation (NFFU) and Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG).


7) N S Vishwanathan gets extension by one year as RBI deputy governor

he government and the RBI started looking for a replacement of Vishwanathan and a few internal candidates were identified. The portfolios got reshuffled based on the availability and seniority of deputy governors for the past 15 years.  Acharya’s resignation complicated the matter because two deputy governors would be leaving the central bank in a month’s interval.


8)Mark Tully presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at UK-india Awards 2019

 Mark Tully presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at UK-india Awards 2019 Veteran British journalist Sir Mark Tully awarded as the Lifetime Achievement Award  The award was provided in order to recognize his contributions to the IJK-India relationship.  The annual UK-India Awards honors special talents and organizations which are worldwide influenced. Their main aim is to strengthen UK-India ties. 


9)World UFO day observed on 2 July 2019

World UFO day observed on 2 July 2019 World UFO Day is observed on July 2 every year. The main objective of celebrating this day is to encourage the government to reveal their flies on UFO sightings and related information. 


10)Dr. Krishna Saksena's book 'Whispers of Time' launched by Smriti Irani in New Delhi

 Dr. Krishna Saksena's book 'Whispers of Time' launched by Smriti Irani in New Delhi
Minister of Textiles and Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani launched new book "Whispers of Time" It is written by Dr. Krishna Saksena (91) at the India International Centre in New Delhi The book was published by Prabhat Prakashan. It is the ninth book of Saksena 
She tells about her experiences and observations in her long life of ninety years.


11) NASA's PUNCH mission selected Indian Scientist Dipankar Banerjee as its co-investigator

 NASA's PUNCH mission selected Indian Scientist Dipankar Banerjee as its co-investigator
Dipankar Banerjee A solar physicist from Indian Institute of Astrophysics selected by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) for its PUNCH mission. He  is also the co-Chair of India's Science Working Group  India planning to send up its own satellite Aditya-Ll, A mission to study the Sun's corona.  He will study the acceleration of the solar wind.  He will focus on the polar regions of the Sun. 


12) 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship to be held in Odisha

Odisha Government will host the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship at the Jawaharlal Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. The event is scheduled for July 17 to 22. This championship will see participation from some of the best players from across the world.


13) Manoj Kumar Nambiar appointed as chairman of MFIN

Manoj Kumar Nambiar has been appointed as the Chairman of Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN). Microfinance Institutions Network is an association for the microfinance sector in India. Its member organizations constitute the leading microfinance institutions in India.


14) Nalin Shinghal appointed as CMD of BHEL

Nalin Shinghal has been appointed as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). BHEL is India’s largest power generation equipment manufacturer and is owned by Government of India.


15) V K Tyagi takes over as CVO of PNB

V K Tyagi has been appointed as the chief vigilance officer (CVO) of Punjab National Bank (PNB).
Before this, he was a director in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the finance ministry. He also holds 35 years of work experience in State Bank of India.


16) Indo-French Joint Air Exercise Garuda-VI Kicks Off

The bilateral air exercise named Garuda VI between Indian Air Force and French Air Force (Armée de l’Air) began at French air base Mont de Marsan on July 1, 2019. The exercise will take place from July 1 to 12, 2019.


17) Morgan Stanley India’s GDP at 6.2% in 2019 and 7.1% in 2020

America based Investment Bank, Morgan Stanley has predicted the GDP growth rate for India at 6.2% in 2019 and 7.1% in 2020. For 2018 it was 7.4%. Morgan Stanley has also cut the global growth estimate at 3% and 3.2%t for 2019 and 2020.


18) Trump Becomes First Sitting US President to Step Into North Korea

 President Donald Trump became the first sitting US head to set foot in North Korea. Trump was on a four-day trip to Asia to visit Japan and South Korea. During his visit to South Korea, Trump crossed the military demarcation line between North Korea and South Korea to step over Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) and shook hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.


19)India Assisted Mahatma Gandhi IT & Biotechnology Park Inaugurated in Cote d’Ivoire

The Mahatma Gandhi IT and Biotechnology Park (MGIT-BP) was inaugurated  in Cote d’Ivoire. It is a dedicated Free Trade Zone (FTZ) for IT and Biotechnology.
MGIT-BP is being built with the Indian assistance through EXIM Bank Lines of Credit of USD 20 million.


20)UP Government Launches Month Long DASTAK Campaign to Eradicate JE and AES

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a massive door to door campaign named “DASTAK” to eradicate the deadly Acute Encephellitis Syndrome(AES) and Japanese Encephallitis(JE).
The campaign has been launched in association with UNICEF. The month long campaign will run from 1 to 31 July, 2019. the Slogan of DASTAK is ‘Darwaja khatkhatao, AES aur JE ko Bhagao’.
